Well, it seems to me that most of the people who would benefit from my professional services are students who need to learn how to write better or Japanese researchers who want to publish their research in English and need help making their papers meet international publishing standards. These people use the Internet for their study and research and are familiar with search methods for finding most anything they are interested in or need, including services such as mine on the Internet. I could spend a fortune in advertising in every publication available to them, but having a web site that appears when they use a search engine is cheaper and more effective in the long run, and thus good for a business like mine that is just getting started and depends on direct communication with clients. Since designing a good site myself was out of the question, I asked David for help, and I’m so very glad I did. Throughout all the problems of building a suitable web site, David has remained in close contact with me, making sure he knows exactly what my vision of the site is. That means, first of all, making an attractive and informative top-notch site, one that is clear, easy to use and provides all the necessary details without overwhelming those browsing. It also means helping me find the right way to make my site turn up in common searches for my type of service. The site is still a work in progress, and we are not nearly finished with it. Already David has coached me in the basics of what I need to know to be ready to update the content of my site myself, and I am looking forward to being in command of what goes on there. Of course, I’ll still need his help from time to time, and I am confident he’ll be there when I need him.
